Day 1 - Absailing,
Helicopter Ride, Speed Boat Ride & Sunset Cruise |
We climbed to the
top of Table Mountain (In the Gondola) and headed straight for
a more adventurous route down. |
|
Even though Sham was afraid of
heights he competently & confidently lowered himself down
the mountain... minus the trademark smile :-)
|
|
He soon go the hang of it &
accomplished a true goal in life. |
|
The walk back up was extremely hot & took
it out of us. But he was very glad to get back on to the Gondola
again. |
|
| We then headed on to the helipad for a fly over Cape
Town. The conditions were perfect and the views breathtaking! Let
me remind you.. Sham is scared of heights! |
|
| The ride was smooth & it was a great sight seeing
Cape Town and Table Mountain from a new angle. |
|
| Sham soon gained confidence and really enjoyed the
sights. |
|
| Camps bay from above |
|
| Table Mountain and Lions Head |
|
As soon as we finished the helicopter
ride we boarded the fastest commercial speedboat in the world |
|
| And sped off down the coast at 70MPH. The rest of
the day was enjoyed on a sunset cruise on which they shared the
sunset with a Southern Right Whale. We then enjoyed the rest of
the night in a popular bar in the Waterfront before heading back
to Gansbaai. |

Day 3 - Copper
Suit Diving |
This was a day to
remember! Diving in an antique copper suit in the predator tank
in the Aquarium! First there was a briefing |
|
| Then the suiting up |
|
| After the lengthy and detailed suiting up Sham was
hoisted on a crane down into the water |
|
| Then into the tank! |
|
| It does look easy but there are sharks! |
|
| There is always an experienced guard at hand |
|
| Once settled Sham got the hang of walking around
& exploring |
|
| But always had to be aware of the surroundings |
|
| But there are not just sharks in the tank and it
is a very pleasant experience. |
|
| But luckily there is always someone there to watch
your back so you can relax! |
|
| And it is not only the sharks that can see you! |
|
| All in all it was an excellent few days
to start Sham's holiday off with. Just hope the Cricket world cup
is as much fun! Thanks Sham and good luck with the rest of your
trip. |
